
Summer jazz is all about keeping the sounds “cool,” so, I said to myself, why not program a jazz flute show. It proved a challenging. And since the 4th of July is coming up this week, I thought I probably should do some “patriotic” jazz selections: jazz with themes about America and patriotism, or at least a jazzman’s interpretation of American liberty and patriotism, which is not always on key with mainstream views. After all, this is jazz and jazz by its very nature is “revolutionary.” The jazz titles reflect this theme
