It’s been quite some time since my last post about Mexico. Back then, I was immersed in the streets of San Miguel de Allende, capturing moments and sharing our stories.
That December 2019 entry was my last brush with Mexico before circumstances shifted in unexpected ways—a fractured wrist from a stumble on a cobblestone street, and shortly after, the world-changing arrival of the pandemic into Mexico which forced us to quickly leave.
In the year that followed, I only managed to write two pieces, both exploring topics I was interested in at the time but far from the immersive, travel-filled posts that once defined my Mexico travel blog. So what happened? Why did I stop writing? It wasn’t writer’s block, exactly, but more a question of waiting for something worth sharing.
And then, after years of mulling over the prospect of moving permanently to Mexico, Jackie and I made a decision: to embrace a new life and move to Mexico.
It was as if, with that choice, the creative spark was there again, and suddenly, I felt there could be so much to say again. This journey, we realized, wouldn’t just be a move—it would be the creative recharge we both needed.
So where are we going exactly? How do we get there? What will happen along the way?
I’ll let you know.
